Agra - Jaipur

This morning you will visit what in likelihood is the world’s most beautiful building, the glorious Taj Mahal. It is best to be early to beat the crowds. Late morning your driver and guide will take you to the city proper, where you will explore the City Palace and the observatory known as Jantar Mantar. Before returning to your hotel, we will stop at Hawa Mahal, the Palace of the Winds.

Day 6:

Jaipur - Nimaj

Leaving the pink city, we begin our drive to the village of Nimaj. Camel-carts and donkeys ply the roads, and there is much to see and enjoy. As you have your own driver and vehicle, don’t hesitate to ask for a photo-stop or a chance to stretch your legs. We will arrive at our destination in time for lunch. Chhatra Sagar tented camp is perched on the wall of a man-made lake. The site is superb, and the hospitality, comforts and meals are wonderful. This afternoon you will be able to explore the local village with your hosts.

Overnight: Chhatra Sagar Luxury Camp, Nimaj (B,L,D)

Day 7:

After a leisurely start, you may choose to do some bird-watching, take a jeep ride to seek out the local wildlife including antelope, hike up the hill overlooking the campsite, or lie on your sun-lounge and contemplate the lake below.

Overnight: Chhatra Sagar, Nimaj (B,L,D)

Day 8:

Nimaj – Jodhpur

A short drive takes us to the ‘blue city’ of Jodhpur. Today you visit the impregnable fortress that towers above the rest of the city -‘Mehrangarh Fort’. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the central market, or relax at your hotel. In the evening, we take a peek into the lifestyle of the locals on a jeep safari to a small village.

Overnight: Raas Hotel, Jodhpur (B)

Day 9:

Jodhpur – Narlai

Another relatively short drive will bring us to Narlai, and your accommodation for 2 nights at Rawla Narlai. Set amidst a bustling and colourful Rajasthani village, there is plenty to occupy your time. The grounds of the property are beautiful, and nestle beneath a huge dome of rock which houses a Hindu shrine. There are walking trails, but you may choose a horse-trek if you wish, and the village is readily accessible.
